Both my coworker and myself are pregnant and due about 8 weeks apart. She has two children already, and thank goodness for her and her patience with all of my "new parent" questions. She really gives unbiased answers to my questions, although I think most of our parenting techniques will be fairly different. It is nice to see someone else's way of handling a situation, and their thoughts about a particular topic. I really only know the way my parents raised me.
Today she forwarded me two blog posts by to other moms. They were both about the "not so fun" parenting moments. I guess I never really thought much further than the first few months when the baby cries and doesn't sleep. I mean I've thought about my child's life at 3, 8, 10, even 20 years from now, but mostly about the happy times...birthdays, graduations, football games, dance recitals, etc. I've never really thought about having multiple children and trying to grocery shop with them screaming in the cart.
The second blog was about the first time you fall in love with your child. Some people say it happens the first time you see your baby. Others say its when your baby first smiles at you. The writer talks about feeling guilty for not being in love with her baby from the moment she first saw her. But says that as she gets to know her baby, her personality, and as the baby gets to know her, she falls more and more in love.
I'm really looking forward to falling in love with our baby, and especially seeing Michael hold him for the first time. I think those are the moments that I look forward to most.
My design blog. Things I like, projects around the house, and everything in between.

I'm sad that the holidays are over. Michael and I had such a great time with our families. For Thanksgiving we went to Vegas to visit his parents for a mini family reunion with his aunt, uncle, and cousins. And had a blast of course! Thanks to his parents, we got to see the "Love" Cirque du Soliel. What an amazing show! I would definitely recommend it. Actually, I would recommend ANY Cirque show. I've seen a few and have loved them all.
December flew by and before I knew it, we were on our way to Louisiana for Christmas. Michael hadn't been since last December, and I was way overdue for a visit. I was so excited to see my friends and family! And I got to show off my belly to everyone, since I hadn't seen anyone except my mom since we found out that we were expecting. I've missed everyone SO much. This has been the longest that I've gone without seeing most of them. I was also glad to see my brother and how well he is doing since his accident in April. Michael and I both had a great time.
And already it's January! Which means bebe is coming soon! I still haven't started "nesting." Haha...his room is a sssslllloooowww work in progress. Hopefully, we'll get that done by the end of the month...I still have Christmas decorations up! I guess I'm going to have to work on my procrastination...tomorrow. Tomorrow I will finish taking them down, packing them away, and by the end of the week, I hope to have the house spotless. Working wears me out these days and I'm completely exhausted by the time I get home.
That's all I've got for now!
